Copenhagen Raises $300,000 In 4 Years to Support Hunger Relief

San Antonio food bank volunteers

Another 5&5 Charity Food Drive has concluded, and we are thrilled to announce that we met our fundraising goal of $50,000! This brings Copenhagen鈥檚 four-year total to $300,000 in support of food banks across Arizona and Texas. Because our amazing food bank partners work to optimize every dollar and pound of food they receive, our donations this year collectively equated to over 270,000 meals for those facing food insecurity in our communities.

From March 14 through April 6, 2025, Copenhagen donated 5% of gross sales to five food banks: St. Mary鈥檚 Food Bank in Phoenix, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in Tucson, the Central Texas Food Bank in Austin, the San Antonio Food Bank, and the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.

To encourage participation, Copenhagen offered a 5% discount on purchases when customers donated at least 5 nonperishable food items or $25. In addition, a number of Copenhagen employees at our showrooms and warehouses supported their local food banks through volunteering.

Here鈥檚 a breakdown of the impact we made for each market and food bank:

Phoenix 鈥 St. Mary鈥檚 Food Bank

  • Copenhagen donation: $18,000
  • Customer donations: $2,108
  • Food donations: 537 lbs.

  • Food donations: 200 lbs.
  • Meals equivalent: Over 16,440 meals

San Antonio 鈥 San Antonio Food Bank

  • Copenhagen donation: $8,000
  • Customer donations: $206
  • Food donations: 208 lbs.
  • Meals equivalent: Over 57,442 meals

El Paso 鈥 El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank

  • Copenhagen donation: $8,000
  • Customer donations: $550
  • Food donations: 30 cans
  • Meals equivalent: Over 59,850 meals

Our volunteers made a significant impact this year as well. Sales and warehouse staff from San Antonio and Tucson volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, respectively.

The San Antonio team had 19 employees working to construct and fill 45 lb food boxes 鈥 they were able to make 875 boxes with 39,375 lbs of food! Meanwhile, the Tucson team had 7 employees tasked with sorting and packing produce as part of the food bank鈥檚 food recovery efforts. They filled 3 large bins with fresh bell peppers and tomatoes that would otherwise be discarded but instead went to those in need.

Food banks provide much-needed nutrition and other resources to people facing hunger and food insecurity. This includes some of our communities鈥 most vulnerable members, like children and seniors. They also offer valuable education, training, and outreach programs that promote self-sufficiency and healthy communities.
